Project: Seven Brochure 2012. Finalized the last updates for the mid-season printing. We’ve also got the 6 printed inserts updated, too. Way too much work.
Project: Working on a Seven Cycles 622 web page – pages – to highlight all that’s going on with that bike. The feedback, reviews, and results of the bike have been better than I could have expected. Joe W. is writing a review. Matt Roy is putting together a ride report. A few retailers are providing quotes. And I’m working on the description of the ways in which the 622 differs from our other bikes.
Project: Russell Right: Prepping for a meeting on Friday for this top secret project.

Product Development: Sent off the final proposal for a Seven Cycles private label Project: CFG. I expect that we’ll start prototypes within the next week or so. I believe this will be the largest private label project on which we’ve worked.
Project: Working on Seven Cycles production system revamp with Matt O. Our Framebuilder role is coming along. And it now includes carbon and build sheet development. By definition, each machinist and finisher will now truly be a framebuilder. This is both challenging and worthwhile.
Project: Getting back on track with some sales projects that have been foundering because there’s so much happening. For sales projects I count 32 that require more than a couple days of work.

Rob Kristoff wrote a really nice piece about the Ride Studio Cafe. Rob does a great job of describing the cultural hub that the Studio is striving to be. From the way he writes about the Studio, it sounds like RSC is having some success with working toward being a cycling hub – and a home for riders.

Project: Test bike for a big magazine. Working on what that bike’s going to look like. It’ll be a great test. More to come once it’s public.

Project: Met with Matt Roy about the GMD race and bikes tonight. Lots of work to complete in the next four days. It’ll happen though.
Project: Studio Signs. We’ve got the design, permitting, historic society, and everything else finally in order. Thanks Chantal Boxer for doing all the leg work, Patria L. for getting the sign installation on track, the town of lexington for agreeing to our unusual design ideas, and to Richard Batten of Batten Signs for helping get it completed. We’re expecting the sign to be installed before the fourth of July.
Note: I know I’m working too much when three people today asked if I was growing a mustache; all that means is that I don’t have time to shave. Yuck.

Here’s a two part article from City Cycles in Switzerland about the Berlin Bike project. Written by Butch Gaudy. Thanks Butch!

Rob Vandermark, designer, owner und vordenker by der amerikanischen Titanrahmenschmiede in Boston, MA wurde von den Machern der Berliner Fahrradschau eingeladen über Velo-Design zu reden. Er hat seinen Vortrag mit einer Omage an die Hauptstadt gleich umgesetzt.

Robert: ” Designed specifically for the city of Berlin, this urban bike is equipped to do anything in the city. This Elium SLX show bike is one part commuter, one part urban bike, one part utility bike, and three parts style. It’s motorcycle-esque, fun, functional, and definetly an overkill.”

Press: The Berlin Bike showed up again today. Glad to see it on a Swiss site.
Graphic Design: Worked on the White Team Kits today. Brought it back from the dead with Todd Rowell’s help – and Jay Robbin’s blessing. We’re definitely doing the white jersey. Working with Verge on it. It’s going to look hot – I mean cool.
Poison Ivy. I’ve been updating my poison ivy post. Poison ivy sure does like me a lot; I don’t like it so much.
Humor? I received this spam email – they’ve definitely got my number: “Spending a lot of time at home lately? Have you fixed all that needs fixing and still have time to use? Be fruitful and waste no time! Earn more income right from your home. Read and learn about it.” That’s me, for sure.
