Saturday location: Seven | Studio || 6:40 am – 6:30 pm
- Ride Event: The Harvard ride happened today. We had 80+ people roll out from the Studio and another 40+ meetup at the Harvard General Store. Fantastic fun. Patria knocked another one out of the part.

Friday location: Seven | Studio || 8:05 am – 8:40 pm
- Consulting: Met with David D. today to learn more about his power project. He’s expecting provisional patents in Mid-December so I’ll be able to share more soon. It’s really interesting to be working on two bike projects that are electronic-centric at once. Typically I’d be working on zero electronics and battery projects. Is it the shape of punk to come?
- Production Management: Been working on some Seven Cycles production planning to wrap up the year strong. Those darn holidays get in the way. New employee coming on will also slow work as we train work.
Thursday location: Seven | Studio || 7:40 am – 10:05 pm
- Event: At the Ride Studio Cafe this evening for a RideWithGPS event. Another great project; I can’t keep up with them. But somehow Patria is keeping up – and getting ready for this Saturday’s Harvard General Store ride.
- Entrepreneurship: The Babson Entrepreneur Experience Lab website is live. This was a project on which I worked back in February and March of this year. Their site is finally live. They have a bit of my content up there. I’ve posted a few items on TIAY, too.
- Business Development: I had a discussion today about business development timing. I think timing has played a really important roll in the work I’ve done. In retrospect, on many projects, it’s the timing of when I’ve worked on something – or chosen not to work on something – that’s made all the difference. The world rotates and all the pieces move. Pangea isn’t what it used to be. A smart plan today becomes untenable tomorrow if not implemented at the right time. That doesn’t mean that every project has to happen today – but it often feels that way.

The 2013 Seven Cycles brochure arrived this afternoon.
Everyone seems happy with it. Skunk rocked. John Lewis rocked. Everyone that helped at Seven rocked. Our printer rocked. We’ll be posting a webpage about everyone that helped put this together. More information soon. Order yours at Seven’s webpage. Hope you like it.

Wednesday location: Seven || 7:25 am – 11:00 pm
- Ride Event: High Point Ride. Had a great meeting – and dinner – discussing a 2013 ride project with Pamela and John. It’s a ride I started developing in February of 2012 but I’ve been putting off because the logistics are too intense. 2013 will be the year. Details coming soon.
- Ad schedule: Worked on Seven Cycles’ advertising schedule for 2013. In order to do this I was reviewing some of the the work we’ve done over the past 10-years. It’s interesting how much the media landscape has changed over that time: print vs. online; magazines that have come and gone; blogs. Impressions vs. circulation. Metrics vs. bros.

Signs of winter: overflowing pockets
Tuesday location: Seven || 7:40 am – 7:35 pm
- Bike Project: Working on final details for Mary McConneloug and Mike Broderick’s 650b mountain bikes for the 2013 season. They’re going to be riding them on the Trans Andes stage race in late January. These bikes will be perfect for that terrain. 650b are the hot set up right now and we’ve been building them for a few years. Dialed.
- Consulting: I’ve been invited to the Techstars Demo Day next week. I’ll get to see a bunch of young entrepreneurs pitching to angels and VCs. Oh, I remember the days. Urban Here Sports will be there and I’ll be rooting for them.
- Honey Bikes: Working on a couple new projects with Honey. One of which is with Tati Cycles; I’ve been working with J. for a couple years and I think he’s come up with a great plan for Tati and Honey. Stay tuned.
Monday location: Seven || 8:50 am – 8:20 pm

- Business Development: Met at Seven Cycles today about the possibility of buying out one of our two outside investors. Exciting step for Seven. lots of moving parts but it looks like we’re going to do this at year end. This means we’ll have more than 95% of the shares held within the company. Controlling our destiny for better or worse.
- Graphic Design: Finalizing the Seven Cycles winter wool jersey today. Waiting on a quote. The design is a bit unusual. Posting images soon.
- Project Support: Espresso Cart completed! Steven Lim did final assembly today. The machine looks great. The term, “cart” seems a bit pedestrian for this unit. Great carpentry by Dan Zimmerman. It’ll be at the Ride Studio Cafe soon so come by and check it out.
Sunday location: Studio || 7:40 am – 6:05 pm

- Note: Short day today. And a busy one. Lots of great bike conversations happened today. Changing weather = thoughtfulness about next year’s bike.
- Coffee: I had a perfect coffee today. It seems I almost always go to espresso drinks – Macchiato or cortado. I sometimes forget how good coffee can be.
Saturday location: Seven | Studio || 6:10 am – 10:20 pm
- Event: Private party at Ride Studio Cafe this evening. Great group of people. Always nice to host special private events.
