A fun Speed Project for the Honey Bikes 2014 Bike Launch. Chip, Lily, Kirk, and I put this calendar together. It’s a list of some of the rides – 35 in all – I’d like to do this year. I think it’s going to expand quickly. We wanted to keep it to one double-sided page. Just barely made it work.

The Seven Cycles Evergreen PRO just got mentioned on two websites during the London Bike Show.
First, Road Cycling UK considers Seven’s Evergreen PRO one of, “the best of the London Bike Show”
Next, Road.cc considers the Seven Evergreen PRO to be a highlight of the show.
That’s actually Matt Roy‘s personal 2014 race bike. He was kind enough to part with it for a few weeks so it could make the journey to London. It’ll be home soon.

A few months ago Zac Daab of Cascade Bicycle Studio invited me to give a talk at the Seattle Bike Expo. I couldn’t resist a chance to visit him so I enthusiastically agreed. Also, I haven’t spoken at the SBE in about a decade so I look forward to see how it’s evolved.
Here’s the scoop:

Why: Better Bikes! And visiting Cascade Bicycle Studio!
I’ll also be at the Cascade Bicycle Studio booth – if they let me in – for a lot of Saturday and Sunday so I hope some people stop by to say hi.
My talk will have nothing to do with bike fitting; it’ll be all about the other facets of making riding better. It’s a conversation I have a lot so I look forward to talking about it in the expo setting. A few of the topics will include:

Bicycle Retailer and Industry News profiled Jennifer Miller this month, along with forty-nine other influential women in the bike industry.
Jennifer is on the first page of the article. She is a lot more than influential. Her modesty is present in her quotes; she, “helped launch the custom bike brand […]” I was there, she did a lot more than help.
I also noticed that in the short time since BRAIN interviewed Jennifer for the article we’ve added three more people to our team. And we have two more on the way. It’s going to be a busy year.
I’m thankful Jennifer is here to manage Seven through another season!

I noticed that Matt O’Keefe had Seven Cycles’ paper machinery markers out this week. We use these pieces when we’re evaluating process flow. We’re working on the finishing area this week because we’re adding three people to the team and that means rethinking the entire process and layout.
Teamwork: We get the entire team together to work on how to optimize the process for the present situation.
Flow planning is one of my favorite things.
