A few months ago Zac Daab of Cascade Bicycle Studio invited me to give a talk at the Seattle Bike Expo. I couldn’t resist a chance to visit him so I enthusiastically agreed. Also, I haven’t spoken at the SBE in about a decade so I look forward to see how it’s evolved.

Here’s the scoop:
What: Seattle Bike Expo talk: Customization Beyond Fit
When: Saturday, March 1 from 12:30-1:15pm
Where: Seattle Bike Expo
Why: Better Bikes! And visiting Cascade Bicycle Studio!
I’ll also be at the Cascade Bicycle Studio booth – if they let me in – for a lot of Saturday and Sunday so I hope some people stop by to say hi.
My talk will have nothing to do with bike fitting; it’ll be all about the other facets of making riding better. It’s a conversation I have a lot so I look forward to talking about it in the expo setting. A few of the topics will include:
- Better fit can lead to poorer performance
- True customization is obfuscated by branding
- A rider doesn’t know what a rider doesn’t know
- Improving fit is about 10% of the reason to invest in a custom bike
It’s sure to be controversial. I hope to see lots of people there!
Thanks Cascade Bicycle Studio!
