Here’s a small slice of what happened during this abbreviated New Year’s week.

  • Note:  The past two weeks have been mayhem for some reason.  Feeling no traction, yet getting a lot done – sort of like riding downhill on ice.
  • Press:  Seven Cycles just had a great visual piece published online by the prolific Molly Hurford for Bicycling Magazine.  You can access it for free if you download an iPad app.  Otherwise, it’s behind a paywall so it’s tricky to get to.
  • Project:  forty-Eight.  Worked on electronics holder.  To hold 11 items at the moment.  Too much.  But that’s what this project is about.
  • Research and Development:  Project Rosid.  Working with Ryan on some basic material research.  Revisiting Seven’s First Principles of R&D and Product Development.
  • Business:  Working on closing the year – from a year in review perspective – for Seven, Ride Studio Cafe, Honey, and another project.  Way too much to do on this front.  Excited about 2013 and very excited about 2014.

  • Business:  Wrote final check to Seven’s first investor on 30 December 2013.  I am very proud of what Seven has accomplished in doing this.  We paid A. what we originally promised – a very good return; I wish I got that return!  We have only one more outside investor for which we’re on track to buy him out when promised.
  • Business:  Somehow I have not yet really completed the 2014 plan for any of the three businesses.  Close on all fronts but close is not really good enough.  I spent hours this short week closing the gap on the list of open tasks for presenting the year plan to everyone.
  • Graphic Design:  Seven Cycles’ winter jersey is in.  Perfect timing.
  • Graphic Design:  Winter style water bottles arrived for Ride Studio Cafe.
  • Note:  We’re coming to a new year and I got new promises to make and break.
  • Time Marker:  New Year’s day is Wednesday this week.
  • Ride:  Festive 500 wrapped up.  I got farther than I expected but I did not make the full 500.  Happy to have participated.
  • Ride:  Snowflake Century.  In 34 degree temperatures and freezing rain the last 20 miles.  Glad I made it.
  • Ride:  New Year’s Sunrise ride.  I do this most years.  This year was particularly awesome.  Great sunrise with 50 miles of riding in 15 degree weather.  Sun, wind, cold.  Awesome route.
