Ride Project: Coffee Cross 2013

July 20, 2013

in Coffee, Ride Studio Cafe, Rides

In celebration – or fear – of the fast approaching cyclocross season, the Ride Studio Cafe is hosting a big cross ride.  I’m the lucky one that gets to put together the route.

These train tracks are totally rideable, even in the dark. Part of the Coffee Cross route.

A few details:

  • When:  August 17, 2013 – starting at 6am
  • Where:  Ride Studio Cafe
  • Why:  Riding cross bikes!

Food:  We’re doing an awesome waffle breakfast including Belgian and vegan waffles.  We’re also making a big fruit salad and oatmeal with all the fixings.  Breakfast runs from 6-8 am.

The Route:  It’s a 26-mile mixed terrain ride.  Since I’m making the route, it’s likely to be a bit more technical than some might expect.  But, I figure that’s okay because we’re doing cross training – it’ll be a good skills test ride.

Night scouting for Coffee Cross. These fifty steps probably won’t be on the ride.

I’m working on a visual cue sheet for the ride, too.  Running out of time…

Sign up for a great leg opener ride!  Hope to see you all there.  From the Facebook Event page:

Cross is Coming!  Come to the Ride Studio Cafe for waffles, coffee and CX!  On Saturday August 17th we will host a “Waffle Cross” style ride.  We will be meeting at 6 am and 7 am to eat waffles and drink coffee before heading out on a CX ride in the woods around the Ride Studio Cafe.  Early birds can join us at 6 am with a roll out at 7 am.  Those wanting to sleep in, meet at 7 am and roll out at 8 am.  We will be showing off a NEW ROUTE! More southern than most of our CX rides. 25 miles, 70% offroad.  Bring a working CX bike, helmet, and sense of adventure.
