Wednesday location: Seven | Studio || 7:40 am – 9:10 pm
- Product Development: Mary McConneloug’s and Mike Broderick’s latest 650b Sevens are pretty much ready to go. Making a few more changes to the design and then Mike and Mary be riding them in May World Cups.
- Note: A friend and I are having what I called the “Battle of the Scattered!” He and I have too many projects occurring and we’re both trying to add more, somehow. It is a battle.
- Visual: We’re making progress at Seven Cycles on a new video shoot. Second set of filming happening soon. Wrapping up editing by lat May.
- Ride Event: Velouria of Lovely Bicycle! wrote about the season’s first Permanent ride this weekend – from the Ride Studio Cafe. As she indicated, it did seem a bit early in the year for this.
- Product Horizon: Seven Cycles has been building and riding 650b knobby bikes since the tires first came out of molds. I just checked and we’ve been doing 650b mountain bikes for about three years. I’m guessing we’re well into triple digits for custom geometry 650b’s, too. That may not seem like a lot but with every custom bike we learn an awful lot; it’s sort of like 100 generations of product development. Some great characteristics; and not the answer to everything.
